Job Details
Location: Anywhere in India
Position: QA/QC (O&G)
Experience: 12-15 years of experience in QA/QC in oil and gas construction projects, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in offshore projects.
Education Qualifications:
- Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering
- Desirable: Certification in welding/painting/NDT (BGAS, NACE, CSWIP, AWS, ASNT)
Computer Software Proficiency: Proficiency required, specifics not mentioned.
Key Objectives of the Job Position
- Ensure QA/QC requirements are fulfilled as per the Afcons QMS system and project requirements.
- Control and monitor QA/QC activities at site, fabrication yards, vendor’s premises to ensure compliance with client requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Plan and Mobilize Project:
- Understand the requirement of the contract.
- Adhere strictly to HSE and environmental safety standards.
- Develop an overall project quality plan and ensure compliance.
- Manage vendors and review critical deliverables like Inspection & Test Plan, FAT procedure, NDT procedure, etc.
- Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies and monitor the deployment of inspectors.
- Attend pre-inspection or kickoff meetings with critical vendors.
- Ensure all inspections are performed as per the approved ITP.
- Coordinate with clients or their nominated inspection agencies for various inspections.
- Ensure inspection release notes are received before dispatching items.
- Monitor third-party inspection agency performance and process their invoices.
- Coordinate with the procurement department for MRB submission from vendors.
2. Site/Yard Management:
- Prepare a list of quality deliverables for client review/approval.
- Expedite client/nominated agencies for document approval within the scheduled timeframe.
- Conduct random inspections/checks at the site to ensure QA/QC requirements are met.
- Liaise with clients on quality matters and ensure their feedback is incorporated.
- Visit sites to assure quality control and follow up on punch points.
- Obtain inspection release notes from clients or their nominated inspection agencies.
3. QMS/Audit Management:
- Establish and implement the Project Quality Plan.
- Monitor project quality objectives and report to Head-Quality.
- Monitor non-conformance and ensure NCRs are closed within the stipulated timeframe.
- Initiate and conduct project QA audits and participate in internal/external QMS audits.
4. Lesson Learned, Communication, and Performance Management:
- Ensure transparency in employee performance management.
- Complete and submit annual performance appraisals on time.
- Recognize exceptional performance and provide inputs for performance management and training needs.
- Discuss lessons learned and actions to prevent similar issues in future projects.
- Contribute to learning and development, employee motivation, and grievance redressal.
